The concert was AMAZING!!! It was so much fun! More info and pictures to follow.

This weekend was a bit windy so daddy and Sophia got out the Spiderman kite and had some fun. The kite did not exactly fly ... but they both had a lot of fun.

Sophia has a personality like no other 2 year old. Some of the things that come out of her mouth just blow us away. Here are a few of the latest "spider bites"!

* When asked a question that she is not in the mood to answer her latest response is "I can't know how" ie. "Sophia how do you spell your name?"
* she has renamed the fly swatter a "pecker", and a bib a "gippy", who knows why!
* "scram" (complements of Oscar the grouch) has replaced "excuse me"
* Instead of asking to go to the pool, she asks to go to swimming lessons
* we have to race her to answer the phone, she is pretty sure that who ever is calling, intends to talk to her about what ever she sees, and she wants you to "nook" at what she is seeing
* her nick name for Piper is "pop-corn"

I took Piper to her 4 month checkup yesterday. WOW! she is growing like a weed. She is 14lbs 4 oz and 25.5 inches long! (for those of you that care that is in the 75% for both catagories) As a matter of fact Piper is getting so big that the Doctor told us that instead of the 9 months to a year that most babies spend in the infant carrier, our little princess will need a real car seat in the next 3 weeks! Arugh! So heres the second child conundrum that we are in. Do we get her the top of the line Britax Marathon like we have for Sophia, or do we go with the Graco one from Sams? As #2 of 4 I really would like to get her one like Sophia's. Any thoughts?

I also was told that she could start on cereal. What a "treat" that was. Turns out, Piper is not so much a fan of the rice cereal. I tried the whole "mix it with apple juice" trick, and Pipers response to that was .... "tell you what mom, you keep that"! So we will just keep trying.

Last but not least...WE HAVE HOT WATER!!!! The water heater busted...literally... on Saturday and we were sans hot water until about 1pm yesterday. I did not know how much I loved, needed and depended on hot water until it was gone. Praise God that it is back.

here is it, my first entry. The reason that this has been such a long time coming is 2 fold. One, Chad is forever posting and two, who has the time? between swim lessons, reading Pat the Bunny 150 times, playing in the sand box and countless other activities, who has time to write about it. I guess I need to. ( Side note: I feel like Doogie Howser right now...you know at the end of the show where he keeps his electronic diary?) After all the purpose of this blog is to keep track of what is going on with the girls.
That being said, some of the best advice I ever got was from Amanda Poole. She asked me how I was handling the having a newborn and a 2 year old. I told her that I felt like I was always behind on the house work, the dishes always seemed dirty, the laundry always needed to be done and I WAS SO TIRED!!!! And on top of all that I felt like I was not giving Sophia the attention she needed. Because when Piper was sleeping I would try to catch up on the house and other chores. After I unloaded all that on her she said, "you know emily, when your kids are all grown and out of the house, no one ever says 'I wish I would have spent more time cleaning' "
As I type that it is hard for me not to cry. Piper is sleeping on the couch to my right and Soph is up in her room napping. I guess that I should be "catching up" right now but I want to write this down. Not so that anyone else can read it, but so that I don't forget that the most important things in my house are my babies. (that includes you Chad) So maybe my house is not as neat as a pin, and perhaps the floor needs to be washed .... again...but my time is better spent reading Pat the Bunny....again.
